In line with Security Industry Authority (SIA) guidelines, applicants must provide the following documents to verify their identity:
- One document from Group A
- Two documents from Group B
GROUP A DOCUMENTS:
- Valid, signed passport
- UK-issued photocard driving licence (DVLA)
- Northern Ireland photocard driving licence and counterpart (DVA)
- UK birth certificate issued within 12 months of birth
- UK biometric residence permit card
GROUP B DOCUMENTS:
(These documents should confirm your identity and address. No more than one document of the same type will be accepted.)
- Bank/building society statement (last 3 months)
(Two statements from different banks or building societies are acceptable)
- Credit card statement (last 3 months)
(Two statements from different providers are acceptable)
- Utility bill (gas, electric, telephone, water, satellite/cable TV, dated within the last 3 months)
- Council tax statement (within the last 12 months)
- Mortgage statement (within the last 12 months)
- Letters from the following departments (within the last 3 months):
- HM Revenue and Customs
- Department for Work and Pensions Jobcentre Plus Local authority P45 or P60 (last 12 months)
- Paper version of a current UK driving licence (not the counterpart)
- Northern Ireland driving licence (not the counterpart)
- Pension, endowment, or ISA statement (last 12 months)
- Valid UK firearms licence (with photo)
